These "shield" shaped earrings were created out of solid copper sheet and hand textured with a hammer.  Hand forged copper wires were then riveted onto the shields to allow them to dangle. Hand forged copper earwires were added and the earrings were oxidized, buffed and polished for that rustic look. The metal was sealed with jeweler's wax to preserve the patina and resist tarnishing.
